Neil's Notes v Leigh/Away travel : Mon Mar 12, 2018 10:01 am
What an impressive performance today. Defence continues strong with 2 of their tries coming from our mistakes when maybe getting over confident. What a difference though in attack. Kept on top especially in the first half. Yes maybe a bit of luck on a couple of occasions but kept our penalty count down which helps keep the pressure on A few raised eyebrows with the team selection. Back to old half back pairing and full back and wing. Certainly got it right especially with Ben Johnston back. He took both the sponsor Man of the Match and the Shay Lounge and collects 3 points. 2nd and 2 points for 3 try man and Hitman Shane Grady. 3rd went to Steve Tyrer for his 2 tries and 5 goals. Ed Barber continues to lead on 5 points with James Woodburn-Hall, Will Sharp and Ben Johnston on 3.
With 4 weeks to go before the first draw in Club 1873 we have now reached 131, just 5 short of last years total. Now the kick off time for our away game against Toronto in London on Saturday 28th April has been confirmed at 6.30pm I am taking bookings to see if we have sufficient interest. We leave the Shay at 11.30am. Adults £28 and juniors £12. For the Summer Bash on Saturday 26th May departure time is confirmed at 12 mid-day with the return 20 minutes after our game which kicks off at 5.15pm. Adults £13, juniors £6. Phone me on 07714488080 or see me in the Shay Lounge or in front of the East Stand before the games. Easter Monday we leave for Dewsbury at 1.15pm. Adults £9, juniors £4. We go from the top of Hunger Hill as the Shay car park is not available. Neil neilarber43@gmail.com |
