Well today we were beaten by a better side on the day,go forward aggressive forwards,good half back combination and one or two nice moves plus PAssion. We were strangely subdued with no creativity with only SM trying to manufacturer something. I am afraid today proved once and for all that White is not the answer, but Brambini would have been. Never onwards and upwards we march to Odsal to create a bit of history.

Let's be honest, a side with Top 5 aspirations should not be losing at Batley. For me I have a few concerns... Grixy made too many changes to the side when Batley away will always be a tough task. Always stick with a winning side/formula, it builds momentum.

Secondly he has adopted a side where half of them need disposing of and simply are not good enough such as White, Kidd etc. A side put together by RM who wasted his budget this year, this side is not good enough, yet is the most expensive squad RM has assembled...

Finally I think the job at Fax is a big one due to this rebuilding required and I just dont think Grix is ready for this level of job just yet. I think hes a future coach of Halifax without doubt but IMO he needs to learn the ropes from a coach who is experienced at this level and has the vision to build the squad. I hope Simon proves me wrong but I think its come 2 years too early for him and again weve offered a long term contract when personally I'd have offered until the end of the season or a caretaker role and gone through the recruitment process properly....

For me with a coach like Rowley available I'd have liked to see someone like him at Fax as long as he could keep his zipper on place... He would be a good option...

Today came as no surprise at all with the chopping and changes made and I think Top 5 is now seriously in jeopardy

Awful performance, a lot of our forwards are soft compared to the opposition and considering the size of some of them to get rolled so easily they should be embarrassed. Inevitable defeat over at Leigh after our next two games will make the top 5 very tough so depending on the next two games it might be time to start offloading the players either not good enough or not pulling their weight and start planning for next season.

Thought the batley sub number 25 looked a good prospect for the future .huge leg powerforeign named bloke i think couldnt read his shirt Batley seem to have a knack at finding props . Their other prop also ran with more conviction than ours . Tyrer and sharpe put in solid games but the rest very average .. dont think the mix worked today. White went missing behind a second best pack Muzza just too slow and predictable these days or me .

A truthful assessment on the two teams performance today.

Couldn't ask more from Batley, well done the dogs best team by far.

Couldn't ask less from Fax, pathetic, should be sent to the other dog house.

From an entertainment perspective, what a waste of money Fax, the only thing that got me up out of my seat was to let my misses go for a pee.

This is Grix's acid test now. I am in no doubt that we will put on a performance next week. After that, tough games against Leigh, Bradford, Fev, Toulouse, Toronto, Widnes all with a long trip to Barrow away. I wasn't there today but not sure why Scott Grix was back at full back after last week. The backs are difficult to pick. I saw salty scored 2 today and JWH also scored. Both Robinson and Sharp playing well. Will be interesting to see who we bring in to replace Butler.

As I have only sen what is on here and read the reports, I hope some of the 17 that played are ashamed to pick up their wage checks this week.
No complaints if get beaten by a better team, but to roll over and have your belly tickled....

I didnt think I would say it this season but we missed Kavanagh. I didn't expect anything from Tangata after his long lay off so he didn't disappoint and added nothing to his pack but at least he had somewhat of an excuse. Fleming must be one of the biggest props we have had play for us in a long time but has no aggression and very rarely wins a tackle. Grix was aful at full back and the pass he threw to Robinson for the Batley try was a shocker. One good game for White against a poor Dewsbury team and people were calling for his inclusion but the truth is if we want to be a lower Championship team then he might get a game or two at best. If we want to be a top 5 team he should be nowhere near the team.

You can't help but feel the league is gone after a loss like that against, lets face it, an average Batley team and it will be two desperate teams next week as Bradford probably feel similar.
