The Giants fans I work with are moaning at the price they are being charged to get in at the Shay saying it must the bit extra that Fax are charging to make a bit of money. When I asked how much it costs to get in to watch at the Galpharm, they replied it was the same price. So, I asked, where were Halifax RLFC making money on the gate fees when it is the same price as if they were playing in Huddersfield? To this, they replied; why should we pay that price to watch our team play in a s**thole like the Shay? I laughed and asked if it was more of a hole than certain SL grounds, naming Salford, Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford, or HKR? Then, they complained that the Shay insisted on using their own staff to man the turnstiles, etc. Why wouldn't they, I asked? After all, would they expect the Galpharm to use another clubs staff if the boot were on the other foot, and also, that as they rent their ground, as do we, then these things are out of the clubs control and are down to stadium owners.
I despair at times. I really do.
