The game is in real trouble.
If you read the rugby league press or look on any forum there is an increasing amount of concern and negativity.
Expansion has and is not working.
Strong calls from a number of existing Super League clubs to
REDUCE the number of teams down to as few as 10 because of the poor standards in the current S/L competion.
The nature of the defeats and the number of points being scored against some of the bottom S/L clubs is causing great concern and effectively making many games a none event.
That and the lack of quality players especially home grown because too many over paid, over weight and over the hill aussies are taking up slots that british players should be given.
England last time out got beat on home ground against the exiles the majority of whom would not get in the top sides in their own countries so what does that say about the standard of our national game.
Championship clubs being annexed and largly forgotton by the RFL is driving a wedge on home soil internally within the game unless something is done and urgently, the game will be dead in a few short years.
PS and Nigel Wood is exited by what is in store for the game.
