Fixture suggestion for the RFL : Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:41 pm  

In the Championship this coming season , the Easter games to be like the old Xmas fixtures , ie good Friday , Fax v Cougars , York v Hunslet , Rams v Dogs , Sheffield v Fev , Leyth v Lions

Then reverse them for Easter Monday

What do you reckon ?

we should scrap 2 games over Easter. In fact from what I hear they have.

Great idea but don't make out you thought of it or else the RFL won't do it, a bit of reverse psychology is needed, just leave it on here for a few weeks then it gives time for the Fat Controller to hear about it after we have all forgotten and then he can say he has come up with a new idea - next season we will have derby games at Easter in the Championship. Although I don't like playing the same opponents so quickly I would prefer just one good derby game on Easter Monday as in Yorkshire at least its more of a holiday than Good Friday is even though most people are off its still a tradition.

Was announced at our forum tonight that there is indeed only one Easter fixture. Big loss of revenue for the sides who have to play away from home, regardless of the benefits to the players. Given Leigh's previous luck with Easter 'derby' games in the past (Barrow, Whitehaven and Toulouse spring to mind!), I fully ecpect us to be playing against Sheffield!

My suggestion to the RFL is stop peeing off their paying cutomers by switching matches to thursday evenings at short notice.

Easter is about reflecting on the life of Jesus Christ who died on the cross to save us all.

Other than this pious statement i agree with The Marillion bloke - the constant switching of matches is irksome. It cocks our clubs ability to utilize the dining facilities and now we actually get fark all for doing it. Down with Thursdays.
