With our league going to 14 teams how are we going to fit in a further 8 games?

I wonder if they will re-vamp the NRC into a straight knockout comp. go back to playing twice over Easter , play on challenge cup final weekend and extend the season by a couple of weeks. With more league games surely squads have to be bigger or will clubs like Fax just utilise their under 21s.

I remember reading that the Northern Rail will have Champ 1 teams playing each other, with the top 2 qualifying and joining Championship teams in a straight knockout comp for last 16.
This will allow our league to start earlier.

How will we be able to play in the league and also at Wembley in the CC final?

Best to finish this season, could still be a lot of rugby to be played.

I agree that there is more rugby to be played, but once the season is done most people stop contributing to this forum, so thought I'd get a discussion going before they all bug out. You don't have to contribute if you don't want.

I am okay with that apart from playing on Challenge Cup Final weekend, that would be a bad move as quite a lot of fans still go to Wembley, like me!

I would have the NRC final as the curtain raiser for Wembley.

I rememer the year HKR won the 'plate' and them knocking us out in the Semis with nearly 8k on.

RFL need to re-introduce this IMO.

13 home league games at last, 3 weeks for NRC plus final - which must not be the curtain raiser at Wembley as its OUR great weekend for fans at Blackpool not a sideshow.
Assume no clubs will make it to the last 16 of the CC, those that do play over the Wembley weekend eg Sunday/Monday.
We may even get home followed by away if we are really lucky.
