not often can say that about RFL
but for the coming season the RFL are reverting back to squad numbers.
has not looked proffesional this year on tv with all the blank shirts with no numbers etc.

Hmm, well, no doubt there'll still be the odd blank - bloodied shirts, torn shirts.

A couple of months ago, I asked Emma Rosewarne if 1-17 was mandatory or not and she said it was. So I asked her why only three teams that week had played your traditional 1-13, plus 14-17 as subs, the previous weekend. Point made.

The problem is that jerseys are much more fitted these days. We've had loads of duplicates made - ending up with 28 jerseys - so where's the cost saving ?

When it was decided to go to squad numbers some clubs weren't overly keen on the idea, I think it was Salford who put it forward and pushed for it originally.

I think if a club wants to go with squad numbers they should be allowed to, but it has to be done properly, as there was a situation where dual reg players were wearing different numbers on different weeks, but if a club just want to have 1-17 for cost saving or whatever that should also be fine, it'll be upto each club to make that decision then

RFL relax rules on stadia to help current clubs keep licenses.

So that's finances and stadia - criteria ignored to save "iconic" clubs. It really is a disgusting self-interested clique.
