Championship Final now at LSV : Thu Feb 14, 2013 3:11 pm  

It has been announced that the championship finals day will be held at the LSV. Well Fax have a final, Leigh have a final and Fev cant win a final!!!! I think its a great move forward at playing them at championship grounds and put some coffers back in our pockets. Fair enough, I suppose. Leigh won't be there.

Tommy Sale told me that Leigh once won a play-off game but only he was old enough to remember it.

it does kind of make a mockery of the finals though when a team can be at home.
why not name 3 grounds and decide once know who is in final.

I am fairly certain that Headingly has been used for the old Yorkshire Cup Final and Leeds were finalists in the 60's and 70's.

We lost in the Yorks cup final against Leeds at Headingley in 1979 IIRC

Esso insisted on it being there as a condition of their sponsorship as there were bu99er all decent grounds in the county at the time.
