Things are looking bleak for the Eagles next year: https://audioboo.fm/boos/1586959-head-c ... ittershare I really hope they manage to sort things out. I know we constantly have digs at their attendances but, joking aside, it would be a catastrophe if they disappeared. They would be the first club to fail, not because of finances, but because they have nowhere to play. I have never been one of Mark Aston's biggest fans but he has always been Mister Sheffield and his passion and commitment is clear for all to see. The proposed new ground was announced amid fanfares and a glare of publicity but since then nothing. I must admit I was very apprehensive at the time as I could not see, in the current climate, who would want to invest vast sums of money to build a new stadium as it is hardly a lucrative investment even if Sheffield were pulling massive crowds. Anyway, I can only wish them well.

I cant see them closing down (i hope not anyway) but it would be a shame if they have to move out of the city.Hopefully if they do,then its only a short term measure before they're back

Fax flops - does n't sound quite right after Friday.

Why don't they look at playing at Hallam FC or somewhere like that, they really don't need a massive ground and something more localised might bring in more fans.
It must be depressing watching week in, week out at an empty Bramhall or Don Valley.

Doesn't Hallam FC have a massive slope? Or is that Sheffield FC? Either way I don't think either ground is upto much. A quick look on Wikipedia shows that Sheff FC's ground accommodates 2000 while Hallam's only half that.

They played at the Dog Stadium (owlerton?) next to the College just on from Hillsborough when they first started up. But I don't think that meets RFL criteria either.

Don't think that Woodburn Road athletics joint is much cop either, so there is very few options within the city of Sheffield. Other than possibly play at a very low level football ground and that's been terrible for Oldham since they moved to the Whitebank after leaving Boundary Park.

Wouldn't you rather the RFL helped the Eagles with this rather than buy odsal and not tell the truth about why and then encourage the RL "family" to throw loads of money at a lying Bradford Bulls?
