"Give Us a Try" : Mon Dec 01, 2014 12:47 pm
Luke Ambler has been out to see a couple of schools today, as the first part of our "Give Us a Try" Campaign. He visited both Triangle and Ripponden Schools.
The aim of the campaign is to try and attract youngsters and their families along to a home game, the schools can do a "performance" at half time during a home game, on the pitch. Hopefully the families might like what they see and become more committed fans. The basis of all our schools campaign is to offer the Family tickets for £20 (which will cover a whole family, adults and kids) and then to give the schools "Cashback" of 25% of that money so that it can used for anything the school needs. The first school he visited was Triangle Primary School, where the Head is Gavin Davies who not only supports 'Fax on a casual basis, but also helps coach Greetland ARLFC in his spare time. He comes from Doncaster, so he is also a fan of Doncaster RLFC and has chosen for his school to learn and perform the Haka during a Fax game, hopefully Doncaster at home. It will be interesting to see which colurs he will wear to the game Blue and white of Fax or Doncaster colours!! The second school visited was Ripponden School who's Head is Loraine Balmforth. She was equally committed to getting her school involved, and her school will be singing on the pitch at half time during the Featherstone home game. Both Heads were extremely supportive of our campaign, which Luke hopes will be a good sign for the rest of the week as he visits another three or four schools, and then the week after as he continues his visits. If you have any contacts at local primary schools were we might be welcomed please let the office know either by phone 01422 342792 or by email info@halifaxrlfc.co.uk Cheers MJR |
