If Leigh get promoted and are only allowed one player exempt from the salary cap which four or five will they have to get rid of.

I M H O I can only see this causing more questions than answers:

Will the cash rich clubs be able to bring in a Marquee player who is exempt from the quota, if he is an overseas player?
It will only widen the gap between clubs not bring them to a more level playing field.
Will the 'Marquee' be more of a target on the field?

Personally I think it's a case of it being one player who potentially will have more impact off the field for a club than on it. Carney at Catalans is an example, he's been injured for most of the season but has brought in untold publicity by being there.

Marquee players are designed to put a WOW factor into a club so that Chairmen like Marwan Koukash can stop slashing Super Duper League Premium match prices to £5 in order to woo the disinterested locals. It's bound to work. I can hear Salfordians up and down the Weaste area saying "Ooh, Cooper Cronk. Let's put £40 a fortnight in the gravy jar. We're 'avin some of that!"

Idiots who have no idea where to take our game. They claimed they have no Money for reserves/U23 and that we must have DRs- but now all of a sudden they have hundreds of thousands to waste on first teamers. And what exactly makes a Marquee Player? When will Clubs ever learn that throwing Money they dont have on a couple of alleged big names will not help them Long term except to get them further in debt.
