The End of Season signing deadline for Super League, Championship and National League in 2015 is 24th July. Players signed after the deadline can't play for their new Club in the Super 8s. There is no restriction on loan players participating in the Super 8 phase, but they must be on the playing register of the Club they play for before the deadline, and they can only represent one Club in the Super 8s. Dual Registered players can participate in the Super 8s for either their parent Club or their dual registered Club, but, again, they can only represent one Club in the Super 8s. Additionally, they must have played for the dual registered club 3 times in the regular season to be allowed to play for that Club in the Super 8s. It follows that there is no restriction, in the Rules, to prevent a loan or DR player appearing against his Parent Club. However, it would be strange if the Parent Club, which remains his employer, were to permit it. Hopefully, Fax Fans will understand their Board's strategy over the next few weeks. Underlying it is the need to keep winning for as long as possible. Michael Steele
Wheres Michael Ostick and Matt Calland to clear things up when you need them
Cheers Mr Steele, only kidding.
Understood, it would appear if we want a meaningful player to come in at short notice we will be best served to avoid sides in SL worried about finishing in the bottom 4 as it could back fire on us. I'm guessing we need Ryan Maneely to get fit or receive a more solid arrangement from Hull KR re Robinson, also I would assume Danny Craven is now unlikely to don a Blue and White shirt again this year, especially with Browns injury. The Club really wouldn't want to have key players unavailable in these circumstances.
If we do fall foul of this though I can assure Mr Steele and The BOD's that they have banked plenty of credits with the Fans by choosing to bring in Richard Marshall, it's been a breath of fresh of air regardless of what happens from now on.
I'm sure they will give it everything from now until 80 mins are up against Bradford on 26th July. The way Richard has improved players to me means regardless of DR, Loans or any other short term signings, this group of players and coaching staff have done a cracking job and given everyone connected with the club hope, belief and confidence that means we should fear no side around us.
I hope the fans, the players and everyone connected sees our predicament as a rallying call for unity and to keep this feel good factor going on, the processes have been giving results, stick to it and do your best lads, its massively appreciated, and in my eyes it would be an achievement as good as many of our trophy winning sides if you made the top 4 with a small part time squad and a new coach, go for it, right behind ya and we will be cheering on the lads until the final final hooter.
