A very poor piece of journalism from a comic that does token gesture RL reporting.

It's 2 games in, has breathed new life into the leagues and the benefits realisation won't be seen until it's bedded in and the championship sides have had chance to develop using the increased exposure, better crowds, increased funding from Redhall and sponsorship , plus the ability to maximise their own income streams. Let's see where we are in a couple of years.

I expect Halifax to be stronger next year and it's put a rocket up some other clubs arses.

Like your optimism but it's spot on.

That's not to say that changes can't be made to improve the system but, if no-one ever goes up or down, folk will quickly lose their enthusiasm for this winning promotion on the field business.

I don't think we should expect 2 up 2 down or any other combinations

We should expect the better (teams that perform) sides to stay up, and the sides that don't should keep building and try again next year. I dread to think where the money for certain clubs panic signings is coming from but it's potentially darn risky.

I'm looking forward to next season already. If only one championship side made it up every 2 years that's fine by me because they will have earned it.

If clubs want jump in feet first and obtain tainted or past their best Aussies in desperation then good luck to them. It won't work all the time

Let's stay on track, look longer term and hope the SL door is not bolted shut anytime soon because we are doing things the right way.

I think the article is spot on, it mirrors exactly what I have been saying all season. Fax's main aim this season must be to at least make 6th place. I noticed only yesterday that the difference in funding between 6th and 7th position is £287,000! That makes tomorrow's game vital. Up The Fax!

Where did you notice the funding? What is the funding for 5,6,7 and 8th place.

This could have been a good article I M O it has been culled to fit as a filler.were it to appear in 6 weeks time then maybe a ring of truth, but who knows what may happen , Leigh implode and bull sh@@ listen to their coach, IF the million pound game was reality, more than anyone predicted last year who knows . Just keep believing in R M and his team it 's been a great year already.

regardless of what happens during th first 7 rounds, 1 championship team per year are guaranteed a shot at super league in a one off game.
championship teams fail to beat a super league team during the first seven but in the million pound game and the system is a success

Yes and those 7 games will give the Championship team to get up to speed, there is more chance of a Champ team getting better over those 7 games than a SL team who have had all season. As today's game shows Leigh are not that far away from Wakey, and for me they played badly, they are a better team than that.
Today Ridyard was poor but also, once again, their discipline was poor.

Also, more chance of them scoring in the 2nd half if they took a 50 pound note down to the local Leigh brothel.
