Stewards & 'Response' : Mon May 02, 2016 7:03 am
Are so many really necessary for a Rugby League game against a small pleasant bunch of Workington fans? They enforce more and more silly regulations, week after week, coupled with quite frankly, poor performances on the field, is it any wonder why a family of 4 will spend their £50 in much nicer surroundings.
I'm aware that the Stadium is a Cat B, or something along them lines, but with half a stadium open, can these rules be relaxed a little. We don't need the Club Doormen, unless against Featherstone or maybe Widnes or Salford at a push, and there is no need for so many stewards.
I wonder how many new fans and existing fans have been lost, never to return, due to the Stewards inability to show common sense. For example, mom and son go in South Stand, dad and daughter go in East. Family made a mistake. Family need to be together. Steward reply "No. It's more than by jobsworth " Family go home, never to return to the Shay again.
Fan wants to leave 10 minutes early as game is running 15 minutes late and needs to get home. Steward refuses exit till he has cleared it with his supervisor on his walkie talkie. Absolute JOKE.
It's time M.Murray reviews what is happening at the Shay. Alienating "PAYING' customers that keep him in a job.
Our home game at Keighley v London was such a refreshing experience last season.
3 or 4 stewards wandering round the ground casually, and not a spot of bother.
