I seriously wonder if fans realise just how important today's game is for our club on lots of levels

For the payers
A lot of players are on their last legs so they certainly know what it means, five had injections last week to get on the pitch
Win and they get their 10% early season salary reduction back
Win and they get a top four bonus
Win and they get to play for more big bonuses in Middle Eight
Lose and lot of regular players not appear again this year as youngsters are cheaper
Win and get four games to test themselves against Super League teams


For Club
Those close to the club know the importance of today
Win and prize money is minimum of £450,000
Lose and prize money is only around £200,000
Win some decent gates for rest of season
Lose and gates fall away and club struggles more financially
Win and the huge hole in accounts goes away
Loose and they have to find “six figures” to get through season

For the Board
For the Board, who wouldn't listen to advice, have backed the clubs short term future on today
Win and they can retire gracefully at end of season
Win perhaps Steele will get some of cash back that has kept club alive
Lose and big questions asked about how directors (including Croad) got into mess
Lose and they cough up more cash or major problem even administration
Lose and big big questions asked about their planning
Lose and new directors will not join and maybe Moore will go

For the Fans
Our club is in peril
Win and a glorious end of season
Win and Middle 8’s will be tough but seven good days out (with a trip to France)
Loose and dull end of season in shield
Win and decent squad for next year
Lose and lots of departures and lots of cheaper and DR players.
Win so really good games next season
Lose and a relegation battle in 2018

We need to get behind the team today in a big big big way. And hope for once we have some luck

Totally agree mate,I will be travelling over this morning for a bit of dinner,and a couple of drinks before the game ,a chat with a few Fax faithful,and then cheer Fax on to a great win,I can't wait should be a corker of a game.Charlie knows:thumb: s

Unfortunately, that's what's wrong with the game at the moment.

Teams are pitched in with 20% of the central funding of other teams and are then expected to compete.

Having said that - it's not the disaster you imply.

Seventh.

You've done all right this year, haven't you ? Not consigned to some nuclear wasteland. You've competed. The worst that can happen is you'll miss out of the top four on points difference.

We need to get behind the club but again you make a post that looks designed to try and turn fans against the current board. Its getting boring, you think the club would be better with your mates in charge? it would be a disaster having people in charge who are only interested in status rather than the longterm future of the club.

Yes, Dbvada's spelling of the word "lose" was quite annoying. But whereas he's stating the obvious in terms of the financial implications of missing out on the qualifiers, without any long term ambition in getting into Super League it'll just prove to be another "short term bung". Missing fans will continue to be missing, and new fans won't materialise. So to claim the future of the club depends on this one game is over egging it a bit. Oh, and saying we need some luck? You're having a laugh. We've only been in the top 4 for 2 out of the 22 rounds so far, so I'd say it'll be Toulouse being the unlucky ones if they miss out after being in the top 4 in approx 18 of those rounds.

Having said that, I'm EXTREMELY nervous about today and had a twitchy night's sleep following Toulouse's late win. So all the best lads, give it your best shot.

Oh and I thought it was meant to be a relegation battle this year. Certain "Fax fans" will be gutted at how well the club and players have done this year.

Your right I can't spell

I have no "mates" i want on the Board. Although I think the club would certainly be in a better position if the names being mentioned (Turner, Posner, Stansfield) came back.

I admire the two Michaels for what they have done and the cash they have coughed up, in Mr Steele's case amounts that have meant the bills and wages could be paid this year. Other directors (and advisors) have to be able to look at themselves and ask if they have done it for the club, or for their ego...even those that where here long time. I just don't want people claiming credit for others and I don't want those that may have caused an issue coming off as stars.
