Playing devils advocate here but that could be just what we needed going in to next weeks game. Although a draw is a poor result against a very poor team it will have no bearing on where we finish at the end of the season because of our points difference so if anything it stops us having to worry about going in to games having to rack up points, now we simply need to win. So a draw going in to next week could give us the kick up the backside that we may need.
I still can't work out how we manage to make so many basic errors though, it has to be a problem in the game at junior level when semi pro players can not get the basics right and a coach at this level really should not have to worry about having to coach players how to pass and catch. I said at the start of the season we need a hooker who can deliver the ball and still stand by that, too many times out attack is stifled by poor ball from dummy half from both our hookers. Our pack at times looks to lack a little bit of punch and Tangata could improve it in that respect but lets hope rumours about him not having a visa are not true as word is that he has been fit to play for a couple of weeks now and not giving him a run out yesterday makes no sense at all.
Obviously money will be a massive problem next season if we miss the top 4 and a loss next week would make it easier to plan for next year as top 4 would be unlikely but we really need to get QLT signed up for next season as he is head and shoulders above the rest of our players. If it means sacrificing a few big earners then so be it as theres a few of them that seem to be coasting at the minute anyway.
Looking at Fev after the first time we played I said that Ridyard was the difference between the teams and it sounds like he could be missing which would be a big boost for us as he is a class act so as long as we don't lose the game in the first 10 minutes then we should at least be able to compete with them.
