In this particular instance, I reckon he went with the "benefit of doubt to the attacking team" cop-out. No way was that ball anywhere near the money line.
If you notice the appointments on the RFL website for forthcoming fixtures it isn't usually a second tier referee who gets the video ref gig at live broadcasts. I wonder if Robert Hicks is being trialled as the next full time referee after the recent interviews took place ???? Just a thought, but think of it this way, if he gets promoted we won't see too much of him in future !!!
