Don't try and make out Super League is some exclusive and elite club. I felt embarrassed for Castleford on Saturday. A stranger walking into Wheldon Road would have been forgiven for thinking Castleford was anything BUT a "Super League" club ... with tacky pre match and half time "entertainment", a crap 19th century stadium, and barely 4,500 "hardcore fans" who turned up. Not looking for a sparring match with the Cas fans, just telling it as I see it. And that goes for several other clubs in Super League. Joke? You bet it is.

Sorry, what are Fax's attendances like again?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

For a pay on the gate match against lower league opposition

How many would you draw for a match against Dewsbury Oldham or Hunslet if everybody was paying ?

Attendances for one off games are not relevant to potential SL averages

Ditto Leigh , that is why I make the point of getting up to 4,000 in the Championship first , if you cannot reach that level of core support outside SL when you are winning 60/70 % of your matches you are not going to be able to retain enough in the early days of a SL campaign when you are going to be losing 60/70 % of your matches

i must have missed it when celtic crusaders were getting 4,000 supporters last season.

it has mostly to do with location its the only reason celtic got in last time and it will be one of the only reasons toulouse get in next time around if they put a franchise bid in.

if toulouse do put a bid in which i think they will do i dont think we will get in widnes are bound to be front runners in the RFL'S eyes at the time the next franchise comes around.

1 st they play to a different set of Franchise rules to the likes of us and you dont they

Sooner or later if they cannot build support they will go out of business unless they find another sugar daddy willing to throw away millions

Any heartland club needs to get to a similar support base as Cas to be able to survive both in the Championship and SL without ' extra ' investment
