So we're gonna have yet another game with this total idiot taking centre stage, making bad call after bad call after bad call ... nobody will be able to believe how anyone could possibly entrust this clown with a whistle, but then he'll be back again to irritate us to death in a couple of weeks time. Groundhog Day? You bet it is!

Ive lost all confidence in the ref's supremo Mr Cummings after hearing (if you pardon the pun) that he blamed the Wigan hooter for not being loud enough at the end of the 1st half when Silverwood allowed play to go on & Hull KR scored a try.

Watching it on boots n all tonight it's clear the ref should have blown his whistle after the tackle was complete.

Surely the hooter has been loud enough on the previous hundred odd occaisions games have been played there. Think this is defending his officials a little too much. Yes I know they should have played to the whistle, but if a player could hear the hooter stood right next to Silverwood, surely he should have done so too.

Just shows just what a poor bunch of officials we have currently in our game. Cant think of one we've had where you go into a game thinking that he wont make a balls up of it!

Reffing is a tough job and have done it to some degree before. I also know that you cant just blame a Ref but the whole match Officials as one person will always miss things etc. However I do not think the standards of match officials is very good since Cummins took over the role. And even if the Ref had not heard it what about the Matcg Commissioner, Linesmen, 4th Official etc? IF there was a problem at Wigan why has the RFL not insisted that it be looked at? No Cummins just blames everybody but himself and his bunch of clones

Cummins is a disgrace as the quality of Match Officials is generally poor across the Pro Leagues. There are supposed to be Full Time Refs yet the quality is not good. You have Refs who do not know what lieing on or Head high tackles or kicking out in a tackle are. And as for the merry flagwavers they are useless!! Whats the point in paying somebody to run up and down the touchline for 80 minutes who NEVER spots a forward pass and often do not check for the offside. Any criticism by people and Cummins just supports his clones instead of properly sorting out Reffing. I bet he just stay in his office instead of getting out and seeing what the main problems are.

It wasn't the first time this had happened. I remember last season on a few occasions watching Wigan that play had carried on and in the end it was a touch judge shouting down the mic that got the ref to blow. So mr Cummings is right - it was blatantly obvious on that clip Silverwood hadn't heard the whistle.

As for dear Robert - last year I thought he was the worst referee I had ever seen officiate but I have now seen one worse. He did have a decent game (up at Barrow I think) on the box this season but how he is allowed to ref this week after that excruciating VR decision last week I do not know. I am agains the VR anyway so I am biased I suppose.

Still, you have too much class and clout to worry about the ref.

Why has Cummins and the RFL TOLD wigan to sort this problem out?

I am also against the Vid Ref as often they get things wrong- Fev v Fax, Leigh v Widnes etc? Any why should teams playing on TV get an advantage/disadvantage over the rest? I hope Cummins goes soon but thats not going to happen so the quality of Match officials is going to stay the same-just above poor!

True but then no players no game

The problem lies at Cummins door more so than just attacking the Refs James. The standards are poor and he does nothing about it. Tonight Hicks and his TJs had no idea on ripping the ball out in the tackle. The one with Penky was a one on one and the clown Hicks gave a knock on!! It was so obvious a one on one. Thats just basic Reffing nothing to do with making a 50/50 call. Ripping out has always been a problem but the Refs have no idea on it and usually just give a knock on.

I agree it was one on one, but as the ball was ripped away to the Donny players' sticks it is classed as a knock-on, I believe. If it had gone towards the Fax posts, then the scrum may well have gone the other way.

It's lack of clarity, IMO.
