The RFL are a set of absolute *******! Halifax and Barrow will not be compared the same as Crusaders and Quins. Its doesnt matter what them 2 do they are in-but the gutless RFL will not say it. It angers me that the hard work put in by Fax will mean nothing to the clowns. Widnes will get in and everybody knows it. Fax (and Barrow then get shoved to the Summer pick where they then will be made to put on another performance and score better than certain SL clubs only to be told "No". Cas should be kicked out alongside Wakey for doing nothing about the ground. They have been warned! Crusaders still owe the RFL money and struggle to get gates over 3000 as do Quins. The Licence lark is nothing but a joke as is the Salary cap the way it is. How can Widnes or any other Championship team build a team for Sl with a Salary cap of 300,000? I feel for the people who have done an excellent job for Fax ( and Barrow) who are treated with no respect from the idiots at the RFL. Just watch the crowds plunge at any team that gets kicked out of SL.
Agreed, its time like this you realise we are at the mercy of subjective opinion on vague and ambigous criteria.
The Statement about us will go something like :-
Halifax RLFC has made great strides on and off the field, they have made 2 grand finals and are the current champions, added to this their infrastructure now includes youth development, a completed main stand, with excellent match day facilities, the club has also increased its community work and the club is marketed well as a whole. Halifax RLFC also meets the minimum criteria for attendances. However, even though the Stadiums main stand is complete, there is still work to be done to complete the groud fully, in addition to this the Skircoat Stand is old and has restricted viewing. The Club also needs to further develop its youth structure in order to maximise its potential and ensure the development of homegrown talent. It is felt that Halifax RLFC could be an asset to SL, as it has in the past, the Club has a strong tradition and is a founder member. Halifax RLFC needs to continue to work on its fan base and attendances and it is felt that the Club still needs to further develop the points raised and to continue its growth in off the field areas such as finances. The Club just misses out on its application to join SL but is awared a Grade B- (conditional) upon meeting these objectives a further application in the future will be welcomed by the RFL comittee. The Club should feel very proud of the work put in the results achieved, they continue to be a strong member of the Championship and the Rugby League community as a whole.
In short, well done for making an effort, but we dont want you... Whats annoying is, we could develop the areas needed much more effecttively from within SL. Its a paradox.
Ha ha!!! That's a great effort there - indeed, i bet Woody is quickly changing the wording on their report having seen your effort
Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Fax have / are making great moves and great noises especially issue being how Mr Fax put in bold COULD what Fax are looking to achieve in certain aspects off the field Widnes have done / are doing now. So even from an RFL view point surely you could see that? Against other SL sides is another matter btw.
But comparing the 2 you have Fax hitting the minimums which is great but Widnes off te field are well passing those minimums.
Widnes are looking to SL 2012 from a now point if view not a work starts there view. That maybe just SO'C cash... But so be it! A lot was their before.
Fax may get in next round? A few stories emerging suggest RFL are considering 2 up! But at worst keep growing, expand juniors to under 18's & 16's get regular crowds of 2,500. (fix North stand). That's not unthinkable... Arguably natural and tbh at worst I see you as front runners in 2015
Remember ad Widnes have found you have to surpass RFL expectations to force your way in not just meet them!
Yes saying tick all boxes great, but turnover not yet documented and if you played tomorrow could 10,000 actually attend? If this issue was clear a while back the issue could really be forced. Buy no point attacking RFL before a decision on issues only just coming to light for yourselves?
