I think its funny you jumping on a rumour.

Violence at rugby (or at all) is no laughing matter.

Okay, ill accept the blame this time for my own words, for not spelling it out clearly to everyone here in the beginning.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

2 seasons ago the Leigh fans coach had its back window broken as it was leaving PO road , it was a 9/10 yr old who had thrown a stone , he had been to the game and was wearing a Fev Lions top , we asked the Club if they could have a steward accompany us last season , but as we never made it due to the M62 being blocked it didn't matter

As we play at Fev in just over a weeks time we will be making a similar request again , only relatively minor incident , but very inconvenient , and hopefully one that all clubs and their fans will do all they can to prevent

I have on occaision spoken to young leigh fans at hHlton Park after games to stop similar things happening , it is all our responsibility , in this league we need all the traveling support we can muster to make the match day experience as good as we can , it is that which will help us grow our own fan bases in the long term , however any violence and intimidation of any kind must be stopped if we are all to prosper

Agree mate we all have the responsibility to make sure ALL fans enjoy the day out and if we see a couple of idiots either tell the Police or get a couple of others to have a word-better not alone! Each club has a couple of idiots. Sadly Fev do have a reputation more than others. The Clubs and Police also need to make sure that away fans are safe after the game leaving the stadium. I have, like a number on here, friends who follow Fev and felt ashamed of what happened at the Grand Final etc. Its wrong to slate all Fev fans as being yobs etc. But Fev maybe more than any other need to sort this problem out. Mud sticks and getting rid of this reputation is not easy. Maybe Supporters Clubs could work with The Police and their Club and agree to walk fans back to their coaches etc.

Especially if they are wanting their attendances to rise, This is only going to put the attendances down becuase they away fans aint going to want to go are they.

I dont hear of much trouble at other grounds in the championship, i am not saying that it doesn't happen.

As for fans of the same team fighting amongst themselves well, this doesn't really cause me any concerns as they have both gone into it knowing what they are doing, Hull KR do this most weeks, Its the poor unsuspecting people that dont do anything wrong other than going to support their team.

Sad to hear this gives me no satisfaction at all, last year was a bad year for RL as I saw violence at Wembley between Leeds and Warrington 'fans' the worst I have ever seen then we have the GF incidents.
I think its down to having a fairly succesful team at Fev, it brings out the idiots as they were not there when Fev were cr7p, yer they were a bit rowdy but not threatening.
The one thing I like about RL is that even when you are angry after a bad defeat, and I do admit I do get mad at times, fans never normally resort to violence and want to have a go at the opposition fans, we usually mutter something and walk on by.
But it seems to be creeping into RL like it is at football.

Don't shoot me down here, I'm going to twist the discussion slightly.

It's Halifax Vs Barrow and you've won in the exact same situation as Featherstone did. The Barrow coach is queuing on the main road trying to leave the ground, some random kids come (not been to the game) and start causing trouble with the people in the coach.

Who's fault is? Is it Halifax RFLC for not stewarding & policing a main road?

Still Featherstone's fault.

Featherstone are the devil.

(I bet you were looking for a serious answer hey )

Chris two years ago the back window of the Leigh fans coach was broken by a stone thrown by a young Fev fan who had just left the match , a minor offence yes , but one that almost prevented us travelling to PO Road last year ( in the end a jumper on the M62 put a stop to us anyway ) , we had spoken to the club and they were going to have the stewards watch us off from the ground , I have seen similar at Leigh , in fact I've stopped similar things happening at Leigh , as Championship clubs we can I'll afford to upset the powers that be , if we are ever to have ambition to move higher
