Sorry to butt in but as I am getting on a bit permit me to say this.

Everytime I see a young couple in love it brings a smile to my face whether they be from a poor or rich background. Whether they are black white or yellow. Whether they are from the Capital (Leigh where else ?) or even Pieland.

Wills and Kate are in love and I am chuffed for them both. My wedding reception meal was from the Chippie.

By the way I am a republican but remember the song "money makes the world go round* I think I know what gets me spinning.

There's not much to be proud of in Britain these days... the pomp and circumstance of such an occasion is summat to be proud of. Being averse to the event is predictable and tired, and makes you more of a sheep than the 'subjects' of the subservience you quoth so readily.

By the way - I totally respect your opinions; I realize that the idea of monarchy and privilege can be hard to swallow. I think there were many people who drew pride from the celebrations on Friday who couldn't give a hoot about the Royal Family. When something we do that represents our country draws in massive attention (good attention for once) from other countries around the world then it's a good thing. I mean, what's the last thing you remember Norway doing?
