Reading the trade press yesterday and looking at the attendances for the cup ties, our game is in deep trouble, the crowds were pathetic at almost all of the fixtures.
The prestige of the challenge cup is almost lost to all within the game apart from the four or five clubs capable of winning or getting to the final. How sad.
It is sad but some will still bury their heads in the sand and say all is rosy in the garden look at the SL attendances its all the Challenge Cup's fault.
Like I have said whilst crowds do go down for cup matches because it is all pay it is very noticeable that even the bigger games don't get good crowds most of the time like the Wakey v Cas game. In football yer some games in the FAC are a lot lower but come the real tasty games the fans turn up. SL crowds are inflated by free tickets and offers anyway.
Maybe the CC shows what the fanbase in RL really is now, the actual ones who are willing to pay to watch the game not the artificial ones to boost numbers on paper!
