Part quote. "The point is that we aren’t playing in SL, and in order for us to have any chance of doing so, we have to convince the RFL that we are worthy of it."Worthy of it??
Well the RFL set out a criteria that had to be met for qualification to Super League or to be "Worthy of it", this constantly changed without consultation, without any justification to suit there pre set agenda.
In spite of this when the license was awarded to Widnes the RFL said that Halifax had ticked all the boxes and had met all the criteria that had been set before them, they were the ONLY club other than Widnes to do so.
They were told they would now have to wait until July and then be re assessed against all the existing Super League clubs.
The fact of the matter is that Halifax or any other club could tick all the boxes and yet still not be allowed into Super League if the RFL don't want them there wether they qualify or not.
The RFL will not say so directly but they will effectively do what they want by allowing only 14 clubs for example, claiming that to allow more than that number will lower the playing standard of the competion because there are not enough quality players around.
However how is that a fair system if you say to someone this is what you have to do to pass the test and when you do pass the test you are then told well thanks very much but you still don't qualify.
Every club below Super League is slowly being strangled to death and the current set up at the RFL is doing more damage to the game than any other single or combined threat previously encountered and those that can't see it definately need to go to spec savers.
