The better team over the 80 minutes won. Can't knock Fax for effort but again, instead of playing the patient game, we reverted to forcing the pass at key moments.
Batley's defence was excellent, and Handforth's kicking was the difference.
I think the most concerning point for Halifax was how inept we looked in attack when Penky wasn't on the pitch. We seemed to lack ideas and, at times, it was like watching England Rugby Union passing the ball down the line, no-one moving forward, with it eventually ending up with an isolated winger.
Our kicking game was much better in the second half, but then having done the hard work and got ahead, instead of consolidating, we through a forward pass in their 20 metres and lost our momentum.
