It was a good game to watch and just a shame for you guys you couldn't see it through. One noticeable thing seemed to be however Fax forwards not putting their hands up in the last 15mins or so (maybe jist knackered but is a final after all) when Leigh were hitting hard and fast! No surprise to see a knock on when a FB for example is hitting one up inti a charging prop & back rower!
Sure Fax can take a lot from this game though and finish off in the play offs and then who knows from their!
Just my thought J2 and you may be right but looking at your points from another view.
Nashy does tend to flail his arms around when tackling and got this one slightly wrong, it was just high and a daft thing to do at this stage off the game. I think he was going for the big hit instead off just making the tackle. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if he had just made the tackle, quick release and back to marker as SD had know one to play the ball to.
I think it was the back to back defensive sets especially being at the end of the game that contributed to the fatigue as it would with any side, i thought Fax did well to hold out as long as they did, Leigh were behind and chasing the game and were putting in a massive attacking stint and Fax didn't help with some poor last tackle plays.
Miles knocked on once as you say driving in against forwards, he and White,Worrincy have done this as a tactic in most off the games this year and it usually works in our favour as all his / their remit in those situations is to keep hold of the ball and get a quick play which takes out of the defensive line 2 or 3 opposition forwards.
Successive quick play the balls often either wins a penalty or good yards against an undermanned / under pressure retreating defence. Often it works but sometimes it doesn't.
It will be interesting to see if Fax can pick themselves up for the weekend.
York are a good battling strong tough side and will be well up for it so I am allready looking forward to another nail biter of a different kind this weekend because anything could happen.
Never a dull moment with Fax that's for sure.
