Re: Next Halifax Coach : Wed Jul 27, 2011 6:31 pm
Not getting into a debate if he's a good coach or not but if I remember his stint at the Bulls and Salford werent that great were they, but anyway thats NOT why I dont feel he's right? I just don't feel he's what we should be looking at, like I said I'd prefer someone with recent experience of the top flight in some way, with experience in modern training techniques and skills, drills etc from a super league or aussie club. I just feel Halifax would benefit more from this then a coach who has been in this division for a while now.BUT as we can't dangle the super league carrot that may be harder now though im sure winning trophies and finals would attract a decent calibre assistant coach from somewhere, even a player recently retired who's been learning behind the scenes so to speak at a super league or aussie club.
Leigh started doing well when Millward came in, same for Powell at Fev, both with recent top flight experience, it's no coincidence. Fax need the same type of appointment, I just think thats the area we should be looking in to recruit.
Oh and yes Rhinos done well to win a cup final on that budget hats off.
