They'll blow holes through our application - lack of finance, lack of fans, lack of long term junior set up. However, the same holes can be blown through four or five current SL clubs in those areas and others where we are stronger (stadium). Problem is, they won't do that. We won't be able to do that either as each bid is P&C. As we have all suspected from day one, the system is designed to confuse and disable the ability for proper scrutiny and debate - a bit like a dirty bomb.

I watched an episode of Columbo yesterday - dated 1971. It was about the owner of a sports franchise and his murder. So, the sports franchise dates back to the year of my birth at least and we're still making a dog's dinner of it in 2011. The people running our game are incompetent, or to use Balding's words - "impotent".

Or as I said , was it that you were never in the running anyway , no matter what your application was like , but they just wanted you there to make it look good

That my friend has hit the nail on the head, thing is without an 'open book process' how can ANY of us judge anybodys application?
The RFL are clever at dividing and conquering, their process allows rumours and obviously people start saying things to undermine a rivals application, like many have done to ours.
My guess is we scored very well, probably weak in the junior set up but we just don't have the money to run an U18/U16 scholarship are we even allowed? we will have had a very HONEST application knowing our Board. Where we probably failed is being just that honest and in this game that does not pay.

I found the interview embarrasing for rugby League. When Clare said to him "but surely sport is about competing against each other and in doing so providing entertainment for the spectators ?Not abot finance."
He looked clearly ruffled , opened his mouth and went "eerr ...no no not really".
Not long after I received a message from a friend of mine who is not a rugby league supporter who watched the interview . He was having a laugh and said
"What`s the differance between tiddly winks and rugby league .
answer. Rugby League is not a sport, well I think the answer is it is a sport but the men in charge are makeing it a joke.
