There's something wrong with this whole situation I.M.O. we're getting all giddy about a player, a foreign player, who chose to leave us to further his career which we almost entirely endorsed at the time. His current club have made him an offer for next year & he's opted to move clubs & country, now, yet again, without knowing the terms of his contract it's probably an attractive offer, but I'm a firm believer in the bigger picture and he's another import moving around to earn his wages.
When are we going to improve our game by bringing through our kids, local kids ?
The Jacob Fairbank trial has been an interesting comparison for me, having had our salary cap slashed we tried the dual reg opportunity and Fairbank has been fantastic, but what happens ? He shows enough promise to get his first grade call up with the parent club & we miss out on his development even when they have a free week last weekend.
We're being shafted the whole way through this game.
I'd like to see a maximum of one overseas player or coach per club below SL level. We are basically now just a talent feeder for SL clubs who are in turn now a feeder club for the NRL.
Shad's left Bradford, they've recently announced another couple of foreign imports for next season, the game's on it's booty, these foreigners they keep bringing in are hardly packing Odsal out nowadays are they ?
