I agree but can't see it happening as they hold that trump card 'come into the light and you may get a SL Franchise my little Championship club'.
I wish we could stick two fingers up to Fat Controller and his cronies, he makes me think did he come from Russia as he behaves just like one of their mafia?
Totally agree. Unfortunately there is little opposition. SL fans stick up for each other because they realise who ridiculous the administration is and dont want to jeopardise their own positions. Those outside appreciate what is wrong, but do little about it except moan about it on internet discussion forums.
The clubs need to grow a backbone and start speaking out and the supporters of clubs outside of SL need to start highlighting what a mess Wood and all are making of the game and hope SL fans sit up and smell the coffee.
Sadly there just isnt a credible supporters organisation who will speak out.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
IT IS UP TO THE CHAIRMEN OF CHAMPIONSHIP clubs to get together and pool resources and ideas. The RFL aren't going to do it for them and the SL Elite aren't either. Who do we think we are? Bradford Bulls?
As hard as it may seem, destiny is in our own hands
I'll be making another attempt to get them together again this year
I'd guarentee now,95% of championship clubs will never vote in favour of sl clubs breaking the tie with the rfl as long as theres 90k coming in from the sky tv deal?.

It isnt about ' breaking away ' as such, its about taking control of your own destiny, by working together to improve the image of the competition we play in and increasing the revenue streams available to the clubs
The Governing body just dont understand that we need a different approach to the full time clubs and competition, to use an oft used quote of derision, " we are a local sport for local people ", in fact it seems like SL are using something similar on their new rolling billboards
TV is never going to pay us enough for our competition, we need to find a different non match income stream to support us , to do that we need to collaberate with each other as individual clubs we are far too weak, it is only as a collective group will we ever be taken seriously

Which in itself really requires clubs to bite the bullet, be realistic, and in some ways behave how the RFL want us to behave, you have to ask yourself, do you want to be stuck at the bottom of a franchised SL like a Salford ? , slowly losing your fan base , year on year?
I dont want Leigh to get into SL until we have at least an outside chance of being competitive from day one, that requires a SL sized fan base, or a non RL related income stream that is unaffected by how well you do on the pitch , prefferably both

i think he's talking about the Union they are setting up which is 'aparenly' just for sl players
That's correct. They may help coaching amatuer clubs and good on them for that but I'm sure being part of and having the backing of a nationally recognised union is better than being a breakaway group.
It just looks like a the same old pattern of SL, get it all together and stuff anything that isn't part of it.

The Fax Trust tried to 'facilitate' this last year by helping to form a separate group and guess what? Some of own fans thought we were too 'bolshy' and trying to cause trouble that would come back and hurt the club and said it was not our role etc... The club even tried when they quite rightly aired their views after their unsuccesful Franchise bid, but what did the the RFL do? They leaned on them making them write almost an 'apology' and put out whispers how our bid was poor, this was gleefully ceased on by other clubs to use against us! Just like Leigh and Widnes the time before this round who got 'leaned on' and told to shut up remember? That is how much power the RFL have you dare not speak out, its a terrible situation to be in and like I keep saying its like being in North Korea we are all gagged. One day Fat Controller will get his come uppance and I cannot wait the horrible man.

It is very much like living in a dictatorship were any ' dissent ' is punished, the only answer is to find your own money, devoid of RFL influence, and that can only happen with collaberation, and that can only happen by dissassociating the sport from the business, and the swallowing of pride and ego
There is no current Championship club in a position to make a viable SL franchisee, the club owners need to accept that, as do the fans, unfortunatly the fans put too much pressure on the owners to declare their ambitions, rather than using their brains to state the truth
We need money, it isnt going to come from SKY, or any other broadcaster , we need to find a different way
Look at the SL SKY deal? , it is essentially a evenly split collaberation between 14 clubs, some clubs have more value to SKY than others, but all essentially recieve the same, that is what has to haapen at our level, but currently our clubs do not work together , they work against each other, this plays directly into the hands of the RFL, who want and use a divide and conquer system to control us
They dangle the carrot and tell us how high to jump, if the clubs were to state they no longer want the carrot, there is no need to jump , but can we as fans accept that? , can we accept the truth ?
