Black was good a few years ago but had a poor season last season. We wouldnt be in a better position with him than we would the current half backs. Black was a one trick pony at his best but was trickless all together last season.

Shouldn't we (and opposition fan experts) judge our half backs in July? If the dry grounds show them to be no better than they are now then fair enough, we haven't recruited the best half backs. We won't have recruited the worst ones either. Even the great Leigh club make cock ups sometimes as Mr Worrincey's scuttling off back darn sarf proves.

Think that's a bit harsh considering it was perfectably understandable personal reasons that saw him leave the club, and we've since brought in James Laithwaite and Steve Nash to plug the gap.
