It is obviously never easy going to Fev. However, I witnessed the 'after the lord mayor's show' display against Swinton at LSV and they really did not deserve to win. I made a lot of money backing Fev to beat Cas by 1-12 points in the CC, but lost a bit when I backed Swinton to turn them over the following week. I am not predicting either way and obviously Fev are on home turf for this one, however look at their performance against Sheffield prior to beating Cas, then the one against Swinton the week after Cas (when Fev were VERY lucky to win) and whatever the outcome, I honestly do not think you could be playing them at a better time. As a Leigh fan, I wish we had played them during this last month. I honestly believe that us or yourselves would have turned them over convincingly at LSV the other week, had it been us instead of Swinton playing them. Even if you do win, I do not think it will be a true indicator of battles to come, because of the fixtures they have had lately. However, the points will keep you up there.
you can look at that Sheffield performance as much as you like. We should still have won that!!!!! But hey ho, that's history now.
The Swinton game was a lethargic performance but we still managed to outscore them 5 tries to four and win despite player poorly - and poor is how we played! Win playing poor.... well sometimes that's how it goes, but lucky?? No, I saw as many baffling decisions for either side from owd clint. In the end, we edged a game albeit by a dour performance by outscoring the opposition. Not the best game by any means but neither was our NRC game up at the shay!!
We'll see sunday how things pan out. A loss won't be the end of the season but a win opens a gap up for others to try and close.
