Yes.

First of all, we get someone in who can actually negotiate upwards instead downwards. Let that person be a media type with good connections because 6 year ago we had a great TV product called Rugby League Raw. It was award winning (on both ITV and BBC) and the format was relevant to the region that watched it.

Now, what I'd do is roll that out nationally and have a kind of hybrid sport-reality TV program. One that focusses on our great game and one that digs in behind the scenes at club level and fan level. It's unique and it could grab the imagination of a reality TV loving nation. The knock-on effect through advertising and TV revenue could be sustantial.

Anything is better than the hidden freebie that we're getting now, albeit impressive viewing. Smart, free TV deals don't pay the bills though.

London would definately vote them out since Bulls did this to London a few years ago. I think most SL clubs would want them in though for revenue purposes but some would want assurances regarding the way forward and the future of franchising.

Maybe those at the top of the league may wish to keep them in for visiting fans and such but the ones lower down , I`m not too sure really. For quite sometime now the Super League clubs (Bradford included)have been pushing the RFL into having a smaller league .They are feeling the pinch and to make the league into 12 or 10 teams means a bigger share for them all , well if I was a team in the lower end of the league I might think for Bradford to go now would be of benifit to my own team.
All teams left in Super League would benifit by about £100,000 per year from each team that drops out .
If Bradford were kept in and the next franchising comes round it could be my own team going out instead of Bradford how annoying would that be.
So all in all not as straight forward as we think , each team will vote as to what is best for them and the game as a whole may come secondary.
The extra money would come in handy for all the clubs plus might be as well to get rid of a rivel now.
Rangers would at least be able to start working their way back up the divisions but for Bradford it could take donkeys years with franchising every 3 yrs and the pitiful amount the Champ clubs get to exsist on they would lose a great number of their fan base before they get anywhere near.

They were doing some filming for the documentary when I went to the Oldham-Rochdale game the other week.

The Rangers scenario has been a farce by the way and the RFL would do well to avoid a similar situation. The SFA and SPL have come out of it in tatters as they were unwilling to do their own dirty work and had to have the clubs pull them out of the mire rather than taking ownership of the situation. Their new desire to try and push through 'SPL2' so that Rangers have only a year outside of the top flight is certainly Red Hall-esque in terms of moving the goalposts.

Not a bad idea. Think you'd struggle to sell it though as you're pushing production costs up.

Premier TV do, of course, pay a tenner to your club for every subscription. Up to the club to sell them, of course.

New entities happen quite often.

Nobody suggested that Featherstone should reapply when they transferred the business from a members club to an incorporated company. Nor should they have.

The Rangers decision will cost the Scottish game £15.7m. Most of the burden of that loss will fall on players who don't earn anything out of the ordinary.

Those who made the decision - the chairmen - will, no doubt, continue to collect their fat pay cheques from business interests outside the game, whilst preaching to their players about tightening their belts.

Not comparing apples with apples here, changing fom a members club to a Ltd Co is not the same as going bust and a NEW company starting up.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Not exactly sure what's "utter rubbish" there but the fact is that second tier Rugby League rights aren't worth much. Fact.

What is rubbish is the idea that clubs can make money by encouraging their fans to subscribe to PS

You are almost correct about the value of live televised 2 nd tier RL, its real value is zero

So the clubs need to work together and produce a review/preview highlights show, production costs could be very low if they put some thought to it, and eventually sponsorship would hopefully bring in a financial return, it will never be huge, but anything is better than what we currently have

Apparently Keighley will be the next club to suffer as their match with Leigh is now on a thursday night, so losing them money through the gate

Depends what you consider the main body of a "club" might be. Legal entitites come and go, directors come and go, players come and go, coaching staff come and go - the one constant is the support base. They are the same apples before and after.
