Seeing as this was in the "de-railed" thread, I thought I'd keep this one ticking over on here:

Throwing punches and trying to bully goes on in a lot of games, we played them in Ponte 1st game of the season beat them no problems. the lads told me themselves they had a tougher dirtier game in Greetland last Sat. Chequerfield had a few games running were they got some bad press and gave them a bad reputation, undeserved in my view i could name you many teams and clubs much, much worse than them and not all were from the old Yorks league"
Gingdong, did you not make the trip over to Greetland last saturday ? 'cos I watched the game with HalifaxJohn & it was far from that description in all honesty, Greetland are in the main a bunch of kids who have lost several lads recently who've gone on to Uni & it's weakened their side somewhat in terms of rugby. There was only one Greetland player who at any time was over-aggressive for a couple of minutes but other than that the visiting side were indisciplined in most ways giving away far too many penalties, although the high shots appeared to be lazy rather than malicious hits & it was Greetland's far superior energy & enthusiasm which got them their win rather than any other reason. It seems a far more competetive division 3 this season than what i saw last season.
As you know Colin I usually watch another team in a higher division. So as not to upset anyone I will not name that team. My honest opinion is that if on their day Greetland would beat a few teams in the division I am talking about.
Will continue to watch the other team at home but if away I will certainly watch Greetland at home.
Where else could you find a father who's son is playing in an international prefering to watch Greetland.
As he said "you know me Colin, Greetland through and through"
