Halifax RLFC - relegated from SL, nearly killed club. Failure and embarrassment.

Crusaders RL - allowed rule breaks to push them into SL when not ready. Ignored rules on visas, club nearly killed off. Failure and embarrassment.

Bradford Bulls - apparently they are a beacon in SL and all clubs should be like them. Chuck money at them in vain hope no one realises you made a pigs ear of "assessing" their licence application. Then fart around in the vain hope the situation will sort itself. Failure and embarrassment.

Northampton - announce them as a new championship club without actually checking they can fulfill their requirements. Club dead. Failure and embarrassment.

Numerous clubs ignored or bullied along the way. Failure and embarrassment.

Time to go Mr Wood. Step forward Mr Hetherington!

The whole game is buggered whether it be SL, Championship or Internationals. The RLEF a sister organization of the RFL that is supposed to promote and develop the game in Europe has just seen the Italians allegedly pull out of the Euro Shield. Germany are struggling to survive due to Union people employed by the RLEF! We have the academy game on its knees as is the summer conference league. Is anybody going to call these fools to ask why the game is in a mess? No thought not

When will the penny drop, that RL is the greatest REGIONAL SPORT. Outside the traditional heartland of UK and France who is really interested? I have been watching the game for nearly 30 years and in that time the game has been taken to all kinds of places in this country, with no success.

Expansion does not work, stop trying to compete with Football and RU, and get back to developing the sport on the M62 corridor and Cumbria. Help the two clubs in the OL postcode especially, as the travelling costs are going to kill them next year.( have a look at some of the SL players who originate from this area).

Expansion does work if you do it properly and build it up properly as a local club and do things over decades not months! A good example is Hemel Stags who OWN their own ground, develop RL in EVERY school in the town and have a lottery that makes them a fortune and where they have a strong setup both in and outside of schools http://hemelstags.com/. The RFL and others seem to believe throwing millions into a club that has no foundation or stability (Crusaders, Bradford, London, Paris SG etc) is the way to go. The fact that this has in virtually every case shown to be poor management and business decision is ignored by Wood, Rimmer and co. They want to avoid all the hard work that builds clubs up and just get people playing anywhere and everywhere with no real thought to how to do this properly. I have seen first hand how the RFL people want things regarding development of RL in Europe. They want Internationals but are missing thefact that what is far more important things like proper development and how to sustain that come before playing stupid meaningless Internationals. Its the same at virtually any level the RFL are involved in. Our game is a mess and a minority sport because of mainly the people running it since year dot and the selfishness of people. Forget Union being the problem the problem lies within our game
