Managed to sneak out this aft, Excellent game but unfortunately Halifax were not quite up for it. Not a lot between the sides. I don't know how much Calderdale lads are able to put into their rugby, but from speaking to one of the dads Wakefield train for 3 hours every day except Wednesday when they have a game.
Nice chat with Sam Barlow and Brendan Hill.
Colin, if your reading this Jake had a good game.
I would think if these sides were to meet again the result could be different.

Cheers John. As is usually the case when I'm on 2-10 they get a home fixture so I missed the game again. I'll pass your message onto son No.2 if i see him in the morning, i'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Calderdale A will be hoping for 2 points when they take on bottom of the table Selby at Siddal ARLFC. Both games kick off at 2pm.

I understand a couple of the Calderdale players will be having trials to represent Yorkshire colleges in the near future, beyond that there's the possibility of an England trial.

Good luck to the lads who get the opportunity.

Good luck to the Calderdale college team who fly to Malta early on tuesday morning for five days to play against the Maltese national side. Son No.2 tells me he's looking forward to their second visit to the island & it's a proud Smith household moment, him being captain ( rugby team not aeroplane ).

I also understand that several of the lads trialled for Yorkshire squad yesterday, so good luck to them in their quest for representative honours. Several of the lads are also in the Halifax U20's squad for the forthcoming season so there's a good link up with Greeny & the Halifax club.
