Well done to the five Calderdale college lads who played their part in Yorkshire colleges winning a national tournament in Derby today in front of the national squad selectors, beating Lancashire in the final 28-0. Good luck to all of those lads with possible international representation for the future. Good luck tomorrow in the national final at the Stobart lads, i'm looking forward to this game.
I understand the England students squad is announced tomorrow as well & there's likely to be quite a few of both the Calderdale college side & Fax reserves amongst the squad.

The boys had to do it tough on the big stage, spewing far too much possession up throughout the whole of the match. The attacking quality is evident but playing without the ball for long periods they had too much defending to do on this occassion unfortunately. Good luck to FOUR of the current Halifax RLFC U/20's who have made it into the England colleges team to play against the regional academies team at Cas Panthers tomorrow afternoon. Ryan Kelsey & Brad Hill ( son of Brendan ) start in the pack & Callum Dunne & son No.2 Jake Smith are both on the bench. Recently released from Halifax Dom Horn starts at centre & former Siddal junior Tom Garrett also starts at prop. A decent representation of the local district & some very proud families, just another excuse for me to miss a Halifax match I suppose

Colin, how did they do?
Did Jake get a game, I know you said he is carrying an injury.
Why was Dom Horn released?
We had a conversation earlier this season about Danny Fletcher, man of the match a few weeks ago for Batley, is he another who his slipped through our net?
