Sadly I suspect it's something the RFL have cobbled together, based around P&R. They put it to SL chairmen, who, own interests paramount, reject it.
The RFLcan then turn around and say "we offered P&R and it was rejected. Normal service resumed.
There's nothing to see here
I think the Super League Chairmen will go for it, last year Brian McDermott told us at a Faxbuilder do that there were too many clubs in Super League, this week Tony Smith has said the same, going further and saying there are too many pointless games in SL, a reduction of two teams will mean 4 less pointless games. The chance of promotion will certainly bring more fans to the Shay and to some other clubs, promotion would bring even more as would the away support. Some moan at the present set up, some moan at the proposals, we are going nowhere now so lets give it a try. (whatever it is)
p.s I will support Fax in whatever set up and I will support and respect any decisions our board make.

Full article on line now - basically 2 teams relegated from SL, the top 9 Championship sides + Toulouse to make up SL2. The 2 divisions will then split into 3 divisions of 8 halfway through the season, with the final league placings then deciding the make up of the 2 divisions the following season - so P&R by any other name!!

I really hope this isn't the case.
Never before has there so much unrest in the sport.
The Watkins report for one thing did not sweep things under the carpet.
Brian Barwick coming onboard is another factor because if someone like him with his sporting experience and connections can't make or influence the right decisions then we are in for a difficult time.

Is anyone really that arsed? Hetherington and his mob will do what they want. Again
Come on Freddie, yes we are arsed, your words not mine, what would you prefer? Stay as we are? try something different? Surely we should all "be arsed" other wise, what's the point?
Yeah, course I'm arsed John, but for Halifax or the game? I dunno?!
Clubs like ours are so far behind, despite the magnificent efforts of board, playing staff and supporters. Mainly through decisions made by SL and the game's administrators. Just having a club to support in some semblance of a competition is expected to be enough for us. All the great progress the club has made is just ignored. Even now, this change in structure is being used by some to talk up Mickey Mouse Toulouse. The game never, ever learns.
What the RFL needs to do is shed it's Disney image, increase investment in the sport and grow a pair and share the resources more evenly. Only then, and with a show of respect to all involved in the sport, will we progress.
Will it happen? That's why I don't think I can be arsed John. And the more you factor in Woods £200 grand salary the worse it gets. He gets paid more than the prime minister FFS!
Something has to change and soon, not sure how this will work but we do need to change things around, a smaller SL and a SL2 is a good idea with 10 in each I think would work. If people think the current set up is working look at Bradfords crowd tonight against Leeds it was 12K which is good in our world but poor for a derby game like that which used to get 20K or at least 15K the last few years and take a look at London and Salfords crowds this year! Playing different teams must be a welcome thing by SL clubs fans surely, its boring playing the same teams every year.
I've posted before on this issue and think that the only way forward with this is 2 leagues of 10, 12 is too many, though I have to say that I still don't know how the pro/semi-pro dilemma can be resolved. Perhaps 1up/1 down and then back to the next 3 against the 2nd bottom in a play-off, not sure if it would be feasible. Salary caps are massively different and where we'd get over a million to spend is anyone's guess, but would we need it to keep in the middle of the set-up initially?
