Agreed and the bonus point makes every Championship game important on Sunday.

We only complain because we seem to implode when we get 2 or 3 scores behind. It was a bit of a one-off, but it made the game between Fev and Sheffield exciting right to the last minute (which is exactly what it's intended to do). Without the bonus point at stake, that would have been a "dead" game well before the end.

The clubs could all get together and devise a way of only paying players if they lose, by less than say, 16 points. Now that would be cost effective, and maybe keep players going the full 80.

If you're going to do that - why not 12 ?

Nothing to stop clubs paying players what they want for achieving what targets they want.

Under the old system 2-1-0 say 26 games and one team has 0 wins, 5 draws and 21 loses, team two has 2 wins, 0 draws and 24 loses.

Team one finishes above team 2 with 5pts to team two's 4pts even though they won 2 more games.

BTW I don't like the bonus point system as is, because I don't believe it has on the whole delivered what it set out to do, i.e. more exciting games.

I don't know of any club that pays a player nothing for failure, but it could be something that clubs could look at. 16 was just a figure, it could be 40-50-or 60 where London and Salford are concerned.

Don't have details of every club's pay arrangements, obviously. But- hey - failure or not, bonus points are Real Points.

i wasnt including the draw bit as it was just wins and lost that are counting in table with the top two. i realised draws and lost could alter.
