Well would have been very easy for the board to appoint a Kear or a Noble but they have gone for a young fairly unknown coach in Richard Marshall which is brave as next year is a massive season.Very exciting really as we had a young coach in Matt Calland and we played some great stuff when he was in charge bit dodgy defensively but always confident of scoring some great tries.Lets all get behind the club now and fingers crossed could be a few good years ahead !! Good luck then Richard Marshall and COME ON THE FAX !!!

After the unrest of the past season or so, it is nice to hear the positive comments from the paying public. We are all diehard supporters, when we criticise the club it is generally through frustration. It is nice to see long term supporter Chris Smith talking positively about the future. We've been down on our collective knees, but like the saying goes, 'it's not getting knocked down, it's staying down." Well the sleeping giant of Halifax RLFC has finally woke up to the future.
The Future's Bright it's Blue and White.

Great choice, maybe a few bums on seats signings to help. Professional from top to bottom. Well done on this appointment, it would have been my choice, new, fresh, feel a bit better now already.

Having given it a bit more thought it looks a very good appointment.

Richards CV is very impressive as is the way he comes across, a young coach but with a lot of experience at the highest levels both at club and national level, also across the full range from youth through to senior level which will give us some structure across the club.

The BOD have promised to put forth every effort to back him on the playing front and want him to play an exciting attacking style of game.

Very well done to all those involved, the feel good factor is back and I already can't wait for what is to come.

Good to see so many positive posts for a change. Quite simply we have appointed someone whose previous role was first team coach at one of Super League's top clubs and from the limited number of times I've seen Warrington this season it's made better viewing than what I've been watching for most of the summer. :thumb:

Really pleased they are giving a young English coach a chance who has served an apprenticeship at Warrington, mainly under Tony Smith.
Rather have Richard than picking one off the merry go round of usual suspects, also remember him well from when he played at Fax
Good appointment IMO

I am really pleased and relieved by this, I had a horrible feeling we were going to get one of the old school - Kear or Noble. The appointment of Richard Marshall a young and forward thinking coach will hopefully bring back the spark to Fax. These days with the general high standard of fitness and conditioning training, it is the psychological fitness of the players and game plans that give teams the edge. It is this edge that we have missed all season and that is what I hope Marshall will bring. We have some cracking players, but just haven't seen anything like the performances we should have or any cohesion in the squad.I can't wait to see what some of these lads can do with decent coaching and a lot more confidence. Roll on 2015 !

Yep, that pretty much sums it up, well done to the board for making a bold decision and giving him the remit of producing entertaining rugby.

Next season starts now!

Yep, i'm ok with this choice, someone with their own ambitions and keen to improve themselves and the players, if he's good enough for The Wire he's good enough for us.
Nothing ventured nothing gained. this is a positive risk.
All coaches have to be given their first chance at being number one (Including Chris Anderson and Wayne Bennett) , and all the signs are there that we fit.
Roll on next season.
