To be fair would you want a wedding at Belle Vue, Wakey don't even want to be there.

Did I read right that part of the extra money we've got for being brilliant will be spent on marketing? I hope so. Having witnessed a mercurial end to the season (so far!!) I've been disappointed with attendances. That match on Sunday deserved double that attendance.

We have to improve in that area and whilst recent headlines might push us back to 2,000 we really need to be knocking out closer to 4,000 to gain any real preparation for SL. Not sure what you do to make this happen but it's got to be a task at the forefront of any plans for next year. How the fook do we wake this town up????

Issue these days is pricing. Am not moaning as i can afford to go each week. But when people ask how much it is when your trying to get them down and you say 17.00 they say its far two much for championship rugby. A lot of people out off work or low paid jobs just can not justify it in the current economy.

I know some who pick big games as they cant afford to go week i week out.

Fair point it isn't cheap. But I think us fans know Richard and lads are good value and worth more than a stuffed crust pizza, round of Jaiger 80m85, a Ruby Murray or taking the family to Harvester on Sunday. Learn to cook, cut down the booze and fags, come down the Shay and get your kids inspired.

HRLFC Marketing, over to you ;-)

Haha, brilliant, you'll be having them putting a weekly recipe in the programme.

Norman most people settle for one wedding, some have two, you? You've had dozens, what's wrong man, can't you pick them?

It's a very difficult situation, what price would encourage people to turn up? £15 £10?
The Bulls gave season tickets away for the price of a Leyther Lass, full house, then cap in hand to the RFL.
Now they are charging above championship prices and where are those missing 6 or 7000.
Last Sunday was worth £17 of anyone's money, it's now up to the club to ensure every game no matter who we play is marketed properly, the club is marketed better with this unexpected influx and we continue to play attractive winning Rugby then the crowds will return.
Personally I think this proves the point that the club ie the Board and the management are looking long term in going down this road rather than going full time.

If we keep progressing on the pitch like we have been and the guys and gals behind the scenes can keep plugging away at the grass roots and coming up with innovative ideas we'll keep on that upward curve.

I still think our presence in the town centre could be better/more visible though. Does anyone have an idea on the numbers (attendance wise) compared to 2014?

We've got to get rid of the half hearted Halifax attitude which prevails around this town. At last for these qualifiers we had large banners advertising the games around the district.....that is until the Leigh game, no banners for what was possibly the biggest match. The Salford advertising is still up. Why? Then there is the pathetic couple of wooden boards on Skircoat Road/Shaw Syke. I've been on about thise for years, it should be free advertising to thousands on a daily basis but a tiny sign for motorists to glance at as they drive by? Surely we can do better than that. We've got a great club and now a really good team. Let's promote them. Up The Fax!

Yer I agree and also noticed the banners which were a great idea were still for the Salford game why? The club seem to start with initiatives then stop doing them as soon as they have started which is poor, the club need to get the players into Town on a Saturday plugging the next game with tickets and flyers as others have said use them I know they are part time but once or twice a season is not too much to ask is it?
Get flyers in pubs just give them one they will or they won't put them up but if 10 out of 30 do then that is free advertising.
Another idea is an A Frame on a trailer put somewhere like Salterhebble which is passed by thousands, Bradford do it on Chain Bar roundabout, Cas do it next to the retail park at Glass Houghton.
Do another themed day like the other year New York and have an outside bar with a BBQ.

Re: Big push for attendance increase : Wed Sep 16, 2015 10:17 pm
Me and my lad will be going to Wakefield on Saturday, but because of other commitments we're likely to be arriving at the last minute. So, I thought I'd get a couple of tickets and rang the Fax office yesterday (couldn't sort it before because I wasn't sure we could get there at all). A couple of quid saved on each ticket (my son is 17 and it's full whack for him at Wakey :( ), a couple of quid for the club for buying through them, but more importantly, we'll have a ticket and not be messing around trying to find a cash turnstile.

No can do, 'cos we can't trust the post was the problem. Could I call in the office was the suggested answer. Sort of defeats the objective, especially with the faff it is to actually get into the office down at the Shay.

Now, I'm not for a minute suggesting that this would be viable for away tickets, but I can buy the same tickets from Wakefield (£2 off each), and get them e-mailed to me to print off myself. Sorted for me, but no little bonus for Fax.

Long way of saying we should find some way of offering advance tickets, as easily as possible, at a small discount (£2 sounds right). Bradford do exactly the same. Some folk won't turn up (but we've got their money anyway), some will turn up because they've bought a ticket and hence won't be convinced to do something else on the day (that's the main driver for me), and for the loyal fans there's a bit of a discount. You could even put prices up by £1 on the basis it's £1 cheaper if you buy in advance.
