Me and my lad will be going to Wakefield on Saturday, but because of other commitments we're likely to be arriving at the last minute. So, I thought I'd get a couple of tickets and rang the Fax office yesterday (couldn't sort it before because I wasn't sure we could get there at all). A couple of quid saved on each ticket (my son is 17 and it's full whack for him at Wakey
), a couple of quid for the club for buying through them, but more importantly, we'll have a ticket and not be messing around trying to find a cash turnstile.
No can do, 'cos we can't trust the post was the problem. Could I call in the office was the suggested answer. Sort of defeats the objective, especially with the faff it is to actually get into the office down at the Shay.
Now, I'm not for a minute suggesting that this would be viable for away tickets, but I can buy the same tickets from Wakefield (£2 off each), and get them e-mailed to me to print off myself. Sorted for me, but no little bonus for Fax.
Long way of saying we should find some way of offering advance tickets, as easily as possible, at a small discount (£2 sounds right). Bradford do exactly the same. Some folk won't turn up (but we've got their money anyway), some will turn up because they've bought a ticket and hence won't be convinced to do something else on the day (that's the main driver for me), and for the loyal fans there's a bit of a discount. You could even put prices up by £1 on the basis it's £1 cheaper if you buy in advance.
