And Behold, a pale horse. And on his back his name was death.

The weekend starts on a Monday.

'LET ONLY THOSE WHO ENTER DO SO WITH PRIDE AND A DETERMINATION TO UPHOLD THE FINE TRADITION OF THE CLUB' - THRUM HALL DRESSING ROOM PLAQUE

Re: Kit launch forum : Fri Dec 11, 2015 12:39 am
The evening started with Peter Riley setting out in bullet points the manifesto of Fax going forward. The main theme of the opening 5 minutes was admiration and acknowledgement for what the lads had earned throughout 2015 and what the fantastic showing in the first middle 8s has allowed the club to be able to do going forward. All in all - investing in the infrastructure of the club so that we will be ready off the field if and WHEN  RM takes us to the wonderland of soopa doopa league. Things such as website/social media, training facilities, computer system for the whole back office were mentioned (can't remember everything, the bar was oepn)

The club then gave an update on the various different initiatives that we have going on for 2016. Encouraged everyone to back the lads and get involved in any small way they can. The new signings were then introduced by Sam Duffy, who you will see a lot more of in the future (top bloke, speaks very well). Will Sharp, Gaz Moore and Sam Smeaton wearing the new home shirt and Gavin Bennion, Simon Grix and Bob Fairbank sporting the away. bit of Q&A with the lads, few giggles

Raffles, Raffles, Raffles. didn't win :DEPRESSED:

The lads were all in attendance and the mood was upbeat. Richard Marshall then took to the mic, laid out our plans going forward for 2016. Announced the club have invested in GPS units bought from FC and thanked the supporters trust for the massive contribution they have made and continue to make. Hear Hear

Bit of Q&A with RM, more giggles and I'm loving my new home shirt. Very well attended and enjoyable evening had by all. Bring on 2016. UTFAX!!

One or two of the other points that were brought up:

New match day programme to be printed in Birmingham by a firm that also do Castleford's and another SL club (St Helens?)

The dual registration agreement with Hull KR remains in place, although RM stated that with us having a larger squad plus a second team it is very unlikely we will have any use of it this year. He did say that HKR were offering us a number of players on a regular basis last season but we kindly refused.

RM was also asked if he found the countdown clock that we hired for the 8s helpful. He said that although it initially wasn't placed in a prime location, once it was positioned in a good spot for both the coaching team and the fans to see it had been very popular and could help players with decision making late in a game. He would ideally like an electronic scoreboard but it didn't sound as though one was a priority at the moment.

The club has bought a van for the kit team to enable them to get to grounds early to set up the kit before the players arrive. Another minivan is going to be purchased for use in the community.

Richard Watmough has returned from working briefly with the Bulls. It sounds as though the grass isn't always greener on the other side!

Thanks Maul, it's great to see Richard back.
I believe the club either hired a van or borrowed one last season so the great team of kit men could arrive prior to the team at away games.
Things look good.

Many thanks to all who bought Raffle Tickets, Meal Deals and either joined the Trust or renewed Membership at the Short Launch. £ 903 was raised on the night enabling to continue with our support of the Club.

Well done Maureen and every one else, due to extreme circumstances I was unable to attend and as yet am unable to complete my direct debit for my renewal membership, it will however be with you soon.

We shall one day be back where we belong and along shall come the Bulls defectors.

Just on the scoreboard, surely we could mount one in a wooden structure in the corner adjoining the south and east stand? It could be made to work for both football and rugby. It also adds a professional touch particularly when either club are on TV?
