Is it his ability to take you from 3rd down to 4th in his 1st season then likely down to 5th/6th the following season despite a massive increase in funding?

Don't get me wrong he isn't a bad coach at all but lets not pretend he is Wayne Bennet!

Fair comments he's been found out in various areas this season,and faces a massive challenge for next season...if he stays.

he did well last year Marshall but i must say when iv heard his after match interviews each time you have played Fev i think he talks a lot of shiiiite

So, here we are! Make or break.

Make. Go full time.
Break. All the best players out of contract move to.a top 4 team and we get left with the best (worst) of the rest.

Think we will dual-reg next year.

Take out the first 3 points and I agree with the rest.

We cant go full time, we have neither the money or the players available to do that.

Most of our players are signed up for next season, or at least the ones that Marshall wants to keep.

Whats cost us a place in the Top 4 this season isn't so much yesterday , its the early season results - Losing at home to Swinton , Batley and losing away at Sheffield and later Batley - all games we should have won end of - should have won at Whitehaven too not just drawn so at least 8 points there we should have had - Fev were better than us yesterday had more desire and wanted it more than us and they were quicker - but had we got points from games I've mentioned we'd have been home and hosed ready for top 4 and we could even have taken 2nd place off London.

The one result that i always thought could be season defining was Swinton.With all due respect if you lose at home to Swinton after building a healthy lead you don't deserve top 4.You can defend the other defeats to a degree.

I agree we had a 20 point lead twice in that game if memory serves should have won by 30+ not lost....

First.
Poor start to the season which knocked the confidence levels and by the time they showed any form the points lost proved crucial in the end.

Second.
Apart from Gaz Moore the signings we made didn't improve us one bit on last year.

Watched the game yesterday and we can have no complaints. We got outmuscled in the forwards. We wasn't really in the arm wrestle and Featherstone should really have won by more. We was outplayed

The recruitment wasn't quite good enough- players like Smeaton, Bennion and Sharpe are good championship players but realistically to be challenging at the top end you need to sign quality. Looking at Misi Taulapapa yesterday for Featherstone he was fantastic- wonder why we didn't look at his services. We sign Sam Smeaton who ends up loaned out to York.

We need to focus on signing quality rather than quantity because for me that's where we have fallen short this season.
