Class by Fax tonight. If we could defend like that in every game against Championship opposition we wouldnt lose many games. I also thought we created plenty of space against Saints and our attack looked decent with just the final pass letting us down. I don't rate Aaron Moore as a ref and he did nothing to change my mind tonight, it felt at times we were playing to a different set of rules for each team, just totally inconsistant with his decisions.

Great performance by Fax tonight. Going into the game I wasn’t expecting a win, hoping that we kept them within 30 points and came through unscathed. Big blow losing Keyes tonight - shoulder ligament injury could be long term. Just hope the efforts tonight don’t cost us next week against Batley!!

One if the most enjoyable games I've been to in years, great atmosphere with all 17 players playing as if their lives depended on it. Difficult to pick out individuals when all played so well - thought JWH just about deserved his Mom as he was faultless under huge pressure, especially number of high balls, Jouffret was excellent keeping the attack moving even without Keyes for 90% of the game; Brandon Moore tackled everything that moved for a full 80 minutes. Absolutely delighted when Fairbank got the try, for absolutely fearless commitment from the first minute no-one deserved it more. Finally thought Calcott had his best ever game. That'll do for now - I could easily run through the entire team, just hope it doesn't come at too big a cost with injuries .

The score line should have been closer. St first try was double movement. Why the video Ref didn’t look at all the angles I don’t know. I thought is was a double movement straight away. The VR look at 2 angles. Then as it was given the TV shows another
Angle (not used by VR) that clearly showed it was double movement. St second try came from a penalty against Fax for stripping the ball at the play the balL. The TV showed it was a clear knock on and he stopped the ball. I’m not saying we would have had these decisions gone the other way but it would have help our cause. They were not border line decisions They were decisions that fhe officials got totally wrong.
Well don the Panthers. Keys will be out for a while, maybe the season with a torn pectoral muscle. Hope this game want a game too far and will affect the rest of the season.

Very proud of the team after a effort like that. We lost Keyes early which didn't help but credit to young Tom for stepping up which also meant Brandon doing the full 80 against a pack like saints which takes some doing. And wasn't great to see the shay with a crowd like that inside it makes a world of difference with fans behind both posts. Joes injury didn't look good and Doro was struggling when he went off too and salty still seems for me to be troubled by his groin injury but hopefully none of these will be too serious. All in all a very good day for the club with hopefully more to come in the future.

A little surprised this thread is not overflowing with what was a valiant effort from Fax on Friday.
Or is it the doom mongers and nay sayers are speechless?

It was a great performance and credit to the club from top to bottom. I actually think Grix thought we should have been closer in the score and Kyle amor made a valid point that our defensive structure was rarely broken down , a few tries from close range . We lost our playmaker early doors but inman stepped up , what a signing he has been . Steve lambert saying there was over 800 kids there is credit to the club and everyone involved. The cup run will have put more money into the club plus the squad builder and still a potential visit to Wembley . The season has been a bit stop start but we have shown that on any given day we can match the best in the championship, it’s early days but I think we can still achieve great things this season.

I watched redvee on you tube directly after the match, he thought saints left points out there, bud did give Fax credit for keeping them close.
He was more incensed about what an idiot Morgan Knowles is and fully expects the RFL and Wellens to meat out harsh terms, to the point of possibly suspending him for the season, then cut him loose as they don t need that kind of liability on their books.

Sadly missed the game due to a pre-booked holiday and didn`t pick much up from the highlights. Cannot comment other than mighty effort by the lads.
Listened to Radio Merseyside commentary, they were not as biased as some i have heard. :D
