Re: Hull KR Partnership : Mon Dec 22, 2014 10:40 pm
This is what has been written in this weeks RL press concerning the issue.Quote. "Richard Marshall believes there will be only positives for the club in their new partnership with SL club HKR.
Part of the deal allows Fax to take dual registration players from the Robins, a move that has attracted criticism from some supporters.
But Marshall says the link will extend beyond that and having worked in a partnership before while at Warrington he insists he is going into it with his eyes open.
Marshall said, We didn't enter into this lightly, it was a decision that was made over several months. Negotiations started before I joined the club, then talks staled while I got the squad going and we reentered then.
There were a couple of other interested parties but this was the best fit for us and from a Halifax point of view it's a win-win. We have access to high quality players both in the juniors and the first team if we need them and the commercial side is very impressive as well and here there will be links with HKR.
Iv'e been involved with dual registration before and seen both sides of the story. I needed to link up with Chris Chester and Willy Poching and I've done that and we spoke about the potential issues and the positives that will come out of it.
I know both well and that's the key, in a working relationship you need that trust element.
We said straight away if anyone had any grievances to speak about them now and we did that and I think it worked well.
End quote and story.
