French RL domestically is either stable or increasing in crowd terms at least - TO13 IS stuggling (France is struggling generally probably in order to support the likes of the UK & Albania etc) but for some reason your precious RFL seem to want to keep wasting their/your money on it - why do you think this is ? it's not rocket science is it mon ami ?

Tickets arent cheap in France?



€10 for a Standing ticket is just over £8, the cheapest you'll get in at a game in our league for standing is £12/13, mind you we got 5 seating tickets (worth €20 each i believe) for €20 off the bloke in reception in the hotel, got a few more and sold them on, dont presume he paid anything for them but got them in return for displaying a couple of posters advertising the game.

I think that unfortunately the average crowd in Toulouse will stay around 1500 - 2000. The South-West of France is predominantly rugby union and that won't change. Who knows what the RFL were thinking by bringing in another French team when Catalans still need focus (IMO). But even though it is a long way to go, you'd be far stretched to find a more welcoming club and supporters in the heartlands. I haven't had the chance to go with Fax but I did go and watch the Challenge Cup Quarter Final match against Widnes back in 2005 (I was living out there and hadn't seen a RL match since Xmas - withdrawal sypmtoms meant I'd have watched any team!). I went on my own and had a brilliant day out mingling with both sets of supporters. There are clubs a lot closer to home I wouldn't think about visiting on my own. So they don't have the biggest crowds and you've got to cross the Channel and France to get there - they're a good club, fans enjoy it and whether we like it or not they are showing that they can compete with the top teams on their day. Is that not better than every team being a walkover? If we can win that trophy again at the end of the season then it really will have been another achievement.

Firstly visiting Toulouse is great first time around and in the summer!

Second no sour grapes from me about the match we lost to the better team on the night, why say that to me?

Third, you had a go at Hunslets crowd yet as I said if there were 500 on Saturday at Toulouse that was about right. Why is what I saw with my own eyes a complete joke as you say?

Toulouse is a RU city, seeing the RU clubs set up on the way to the airport I can see why its very impressive, they also had a shop and even a cafe at the airport, a big club!

I think that there is only room for one French club in the English game as you have to ask is it worth spending a fortune on another paying teams to travel and put them up for two nights must cost a bomb!

Not worth it imo, not even a trip for the fans, soz.

Toulouse is a great city all year round - clean,safe, friendly and easy to get around - plus it has a great RU team that plays good rugby.TO13 is a bonus for me,that's why i'm trying to sell up and move down there or thereabouts.I love both codes and currently go to watch Brive which is my nearest pro RU club to watch a decent level in the Top 14 plus the occasional european game.

Please stop saying there were only 500 people there - it's ridiculous man ! the official figure was 1021 as announced by an official in the club office - we might just as well take any thing any club official from any club with a pinch of salt.I don't personally care if there were only 5 people there ! I can only tell you what I was told.If you want to call the club liars ,then do so.It's not my problem.Maybe the actual figure at Hunslet was also 'milked' ? maybe there were only 300 people present ? that's possible also using your parameters is it not ?



I agree that TO13 is an expensive luxury the RFL can do without but it's not us that make he rules is it ? The RFL feel the need to expand because the game is dying in their precious heartlands - the last thing they want is to waste your money on frivolous ventures in SW france i'm sure. If I were living within the M62 corridor I would feel the same as you.

The only reason heartland rugby may be seen to be 'dying on its feet' is purely down to the exclusion rules the RFL apply. If 'Fax (or Widnes, or Leigh or any other you care to chose) were in SL, I doubt you could use that analogy.
