Bracek is a solid addition to the squad, but not a big signing; The biggest plus of this signing is thats its not the signiing of Keith Senior;

My question is what do the club define as a big signing? If it means signing a former super league player, past his best, potentially injury prone, demanding a big salary (for this level), then I would rather give that a miss. Some of the "big" names I am hearing worry me, sounds like a waste of hard earned cash;

I know that sounds really negative, but I feel, if we aren't careful, we can spend a lot of cash for little real return.

Get some S/L fringe players in, like Ambler who has proved a real addition with a real desire to show his worth.

KH has the connections to bring in some of these type of players from the top S/L clubs.

Totally agree, don't want any old timers stretching their careers.

look at Fozzy at Dewsbury, got targeted every week cos of who he was and eventually his body gave in. Great player in his day, just goes to show you can't under estimate the championships physicality.

At 33 and poor in well beaten Cas side I'd rather not bother with Paul Jackson TBH. I don't see the logic in this if true.

I tend to agree that age does take it's toll.
On the other side of the coin I would think KH has taken this into consideration with any player getting toward the back end of his career and asked the pointed question.

"How are you physically, can you go round another year and do a job for us"

Not everyone on their last season will turn out to be a damp squid look what Jim Gannon has done for us this year.
Without him at times we would have been in real trouble.

Maybe balancing youth and experience ticks a logic box.

I could accept that if they were of a certain pedigree but I didn't rate him when he was in his prime at Hudds / Wakey. I'm hoping to be proven wrong but average at best in my opinion is signing Paul Jackson.

I know mate but if he turns out to have a terrific season it will be "Good old Jacko" and it's not like we're signing Seuseu's brother again

Jackson is a grafter that gets through a lot of work, will be a good signing.
