was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

Although it is said well, it is a rugby league forum to discuss all things RL related so it would be quiet on here if that stopped
Oh....how I agree with you!
Alas, the "my dad says you bring nothing to rugby league" brigade still have access to a keyboard.
I mean it when I say good luck for this year and beyond, as you as a club and fan base are a credit to the game.
Us Broncos fans will never forget the work you did for the Matt King fund.......great club, even better fans
You really do yourselves no favours. Your club is laying foundations for the future, you are currently top of your league and making all the right noises....and then...you slip into the old "what do they bring to Superleage" and "look at their crap attendances" trap. Get over it. Celtic have 10 years + to prove it will work and the Frogs gave everyone a game last year, reached the CC final the year before and have a very good chance of making the play-offs again this year, even thought their coach was poached by Saints. Carry on as you are, win the Northern Railway and/or the championship, get your submission right and apply for a licence. I like your club and your fans, but don't let a few knuckledraggers get you tarred with the bitter and twisted name. Good luck for the rest of the season and your application in 2011.
I completly resent your remark, but respect your right to have an opinion.
If you read any of the past debates / threads you will see that I believed that we are not ready for Superleague and think if we had got a franchise it would have been bad for Halifax.
That said I do believe that for Celtics to get a Superleague place over the likes of Widnes was a compelte and utter discgrace and would have happened whatever rules the RFL put in place, because it is part of their expansion plans.
I also firmly believe the the Catalans should not be in Superleague as they bring nothing to the table, bringing a handfull of fans to every away game.
So dont call me a knuckle dragger for just having an opinion.

SORRY....
Simply put, if RL remains in the M62 Corridor it dies as a UK sport. Whilst our taxi, the vespa load from france and the occassional sheep worrier from wales don't trouble the turnstiles at Northern grounds, we do spread the word and as such, bring a lot to the table.
Flatearth believing, knucledragging, Flatcapped pigeon fancying whippet breaders are the stereotype that the BBC compound for RL fans.....not us cockneys. I know you are all good folk (even the ones from Hull ) but when these attendance threads pop up from time to time (yeah....every 2 minutes), I do get slightly defensive..........it comes with the territory

Note the stand out point in this post -
10 YEARS + to prove it while a club from 'knuckledraggers land' would get how long my friend???
You contradict yourself with 'get our application in 2011' - so how are we going to get in with the 'expansion clubs' nailed on to stay in I have to ask???
I hate this positive discrimination towards the expansion clubs, thats what I resent.
Nobody goes on about the real success story of Hull KR do they???

Very offensive comments - GO AWAY
Who is steroetyping now then eh?????
Gaelic Football survives very well in Ireland does not give a jot about expanding, I wish RL could but sadly I don't think it ever will.
Is that okay with you is it?

This is simply not true. I'd even argue the attempt to expand the sport when the RFL cannot fully finance it is much more likely to result in the death of the game. As Fax4Life says, Gaelic games survives quite happily and the only expansion is due to Irish emigres.
I have nothing against expansion per se and more to the point, used to watch Fulham as a student and my brother comes to watch Quins when he can.
But licensing was the wrong way forward and will result in nasty financial mishaps and could set back the development of our sport whilst all the best youngsters end up in RU (which has just strengthened its second tier and INCREASED P&R possibilities.
Opinions are fine - but base them on facts, not fiction.
I do wear a flat cap occasionally but the real hiome of pigeon fancying is actually Wolverhampton.
But the simple fact is London has failed to increase attendances and unless Quins do, your business model is unsustainable. Now that is a fact.
Even so, I do wish we would all stop bleating about what attendances there are at other clubs. Sniping at them won't bring Fax or Widnes closer to our common goal of SL.

Cool. Could you send me our most recent set of accounts, because I'd love to see how we fail to operate with £600k of gate receipts, £1,200,000 of SKY cash and all the other little bits and bobs like sponsorship money, replica shirts, beer and food sales etc........
1,276........that was the lowest crowd in SL in 2003 and only 2,088 turned up to see your last ever game in SL.....you really did bring a lot to SL that year with your average gates of 2,976.....
When I get another response that tries to dismiss London or any other expansion club, I will yet again return with more FACTS to p155 on your bonfire. That is of course if manxviking doesn't suddenly produce this season profit and loss account from TW2
Oh. by the way, if you didn't play GAA football or Hurling in Ireland, chance are you were English. There was a ban in place up until 1971 on GAA members even watching an English game, let alone playing one, so I would have thought that the current decline in GAA membership may well be down to the growth of those English games. I should know......I was the first pupil at my Rugby Union playing school to play county football (wicklow...so not that good) in 150 years of the schools history.
