The discipline of some of the Fax players is definately questionable and whilst it difficult to highlight the main protagonists cos the problem is spread throughout the team, Penky, Jonesy and JG are the main culprits (tho JG wasn't his usually self yesterday). Danny Jones was exceptionally lucky to avoid a sin binning after the touch judge gave flagged Paul White given his reaction to the touch. Similarly Sam Barlow's reaction to the touch judge after Matty Dale's try!

I thought penky spent most of the first half looking for penalties, and had a go at the ref every single time he was tackled. He really needs to concentrate on his game, because he has the skills to be the best player on the field week in week out, and not on what the ref is doing. We need to be smarter in adapting to different referees, as they all interpret the holding down rule differently, in fact the same ref will interpret it differently on different days??
I think the decision that set Penky off was the one in the first half where he got tackled and it was the last tackle and the Fev player held him down in what was easily the slowest play the ball of the game. It was as clear a penalty that you will ever see but instead the ref dosnt give the penalty and Penky says something and instead we get penalised. To be to Hewer you know what you get when he is named to ref and the coaches should be stressing this to the players. Its very rare he gives penalties for holding down and in that respect i think that Fev played the ref better than we did.
THEY WERE CERTAINLY UP FOR IT, AND AFEW 50/50 CALLS AND A BOUNCE OF THE BALL AND I THINK WE WOULD HAVE WON.
WE WERE THE BETTER TEAM IN THE SECOND HALF, AND IF ONLY BANNISTER HADNT KNOCKED ON ON 1ST TACKLE, WITH US ON THEIR LINE WITH 5 TACKLES LEFT, I THINK WE WOULD HAVE SCORED AND GONE ONTO WIN.
AIZUE, JONES AND ROB WERE AGAIN TOP CLASS.
FULL OF POSSITIVES.
WE NEED A BIG WIN ON SUNDAY, AS SHEFF WERE POOR YESTERDAY.

UP THE FAX, WELL KICK ON FROM HERE, NO PROBS!
" a bounce of the ball" are you joking? the ball bounced right into the hands of White and Jones to give them clear runs to the line! You scored one try off your own work, I would not be getting carried away. Do not get me wrong they all count and have to be scored, had the bounce gone the other way on them kicks you would have been in real trouble.

PS Is big bad Sam Barlow still playing for you
I like the way you accept a win graciously, not.
You could say that some of your tries were as a result of errors of our team, it happens time after time in all games. So what the ball came to paul white, he still had to score it. so what if the bounce had gone a different way and we wouldnt have scored, if Paul white had come in field instead of taking the line near the end, you wouldnt have got possessiion.
The game is all about if's...
As you dont watch Halifax week in week out you would not know if Sunday was a good showing or not, we do. At the end of that game you were top of the league, before the game we were bottom of the league, so for the score to be 20 - 18 with 10 mins to go, that IS a good showing....

I know one of the officials on Sun and he told me Penky was binned for saying "ow f off Gareth" which i find unbelievable really, i have played amateur rugby for over 30 years and everyone knows you swear at any official and your walking, he was lucky he only got binned. He must have rocks in his head

I was picking up on something someone else said about the bounce of the ball, the fact is two of your tries came from the bounce of the ball going your way. Nothing to do with being ungracious and its pretty lame trying to suggest that this is a forum and I was commenting on something sombody else had written.
Correct some of our tries probably did come off the back of some of your mistakes, but not directly like yours we also made plenty of mistakes and yet you failed to capitalise in the manner we did! I will grant you one try came directly from Penky trying to take Matty dales head off instead of tackling him which I guess was a mistake!

But (he says trying to flog this dead horse).
There were many other incidents that fail to be reported by yourself. And if the bounce of the ball on a few occasions had gone our way then it could have been different..... I think that is the point that someone else was alluding to.
The point being made was this was a pretty good showing by the team after the poor performances of late, you tried to make it into something else....

Looking at it that way a couple of our tries came because your players arnt very fast. I class missed tackles as scoring directly off mistakes as well.
