Re: Last season to this?? : Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:32 am
I hope I can be forgiven for the dreadful sin of missing a home game but just to put in my two-penneth.I'm on the 2-10 shift this week & could have given enough notice to book a day holiday to attend the game, but:
Sunday I took the opportunity of a freebie for the Hudds V Cas game, wifey had gone to see some boy band play in Manchester, so I thought, "why not".
Then, I have my sons junior club presentation evening to attend tonight, fortunately I finish work at 6 0'clock on a friday, but these occassions aren't to be missed as a rugby enthusiast & parent.
Tomorrow the same son plays for his scholarship team versus Leeds Rhinos at Odsal, so to get him there for his meet up time, I'll be watching the U/15's, then his U/16's game, while he's showring after & being fed, I'll take in the U/18's fixture, return home, now that's most of the day gone. On top of this he trains mon & weds, so if I'd been on the early shift as opposed to lates, I'd have had two evenings taken up running him over there as well. I've quite had my fill of RL this week by the time I've watched the friday & sunday live broadcasts over the weekend. Other things to do in life.....
So, thanks to my shift patterns & SKY's insistence on playing thursday evenings, not only did it cost my club at the turnstile at the match, it deters me from purchasing a season ticket & our club benefitting that way.
If 1,900 was a true attendance, I think that's brilliant TBH all things considered.
